New speed rules for the driving test.

According to the new rules as of 1 April 2022, the examiner must judge the driving test as failed if you drive more than 30% faster than the speed limit or if you drive more than 30% slower than the speed limit when the conditions allow following the speed limit. That is, if you drive 66 km/h or 34 km/h in a denser built-up area (50 km/h), the test will be judged as not passed. You must not impede the normal driving of other drivers by driving at an excessively low speed or braking suddenly without reasonable reason.

The traffic law states:

Velocity

General rules

Section 41. The speed of a vehicle must at all times be adjusted to the conditions with particular regard to the safety of others. In doing so, the driver must take the road, weather and visibility conditions, the condition and load of the vehicle as well as the traffic conditions into consideration. The speed must never be greater than the driver maintaining full control of the vehicle. It must be possible to stop on the section of the carriageway in front of the vehicle that the driver has a view of and in front of any obstacle that can be expected. When dimming from main beam (high beam) to low beam (low beam), the speed before dimming must be adjusted to the new visibility conditions.

PCS. 2. Drivers must keep a low speed suitable for the conditions:

1) in a more densely built-up area,

2) when visibility is reduced due to light or weather conditions,

3) at road junctions and road bends,

4) in front of the pedestrian crossing,

5) in front of hilltops or in other places where the overview is limited,

6) if there is a risk of glare,

7) when meeting another vehicle on a narrow road,

8) on wet, slippery or greasy roads,

9) where the vehicle approaches a bus or light rail vehicle that stops to pick up or drop off passengers,

10) where the vehicle approaches children on or by the road,

11) where the vehicle approaches horses or cattle on the road,

12) where work is carried out on the road, and

13) past the scene of the accident on the road.

PCS. 3. Drivers must not impede the normal driving of other drivers by driving at an excessively low speed or braking suddenly without reasonable reason.

PCS. 4. In bad traffic, the driver must adjust the speed so that, as far as possible, others are not splashed.
